Purpose: To introduce undergraduates to the technique of collecting single crystal data and relating modern bonding theory to real world crystallography data.
A. Undergraduate Crystallography Introduction - This is an introductory crystallography lab for undergraduate students. The students will mount a single crystal, collect crytallography data, and solve the known crystal structure.
B. Using the XShell Software - Instructions for the use of XShell software when solving crystal structure from the data.
C. Bonding Lesson - Students will compare/contrast their VSEPR predictions for a molecule to real world crystallography data.
